Sealed before it ever leaves your device
Future Letters are end-to-end encrypted in your browser. Each letter is sealed with your own passphrase and a one-time recovery code before it's uploaded, so the server only ever stores unreadable ciphertext — it can be opened only with the keys you hold.

True end-to-end encryption means the security is real — and so is the responsibility. Your passphrase and recovery code are yours alone; store them somewhere safe, like a password manager. We designed it this way on purpose: a letter to your child should be readable by your family, not by a company.

How does my child eventually open a letter?
