A handover you stay in control of
If the time comes, your successor can request to take over the universe. That request doesn't take effect immediately: there's a waiting period during which you're notified and can veto or cancel it. Only after the waiting period, and with their passcode, does the successor complete the handover and become the caretaker. It's designed to be safe against mistakes and misuse alike.
